Collect perks such as health packs and ammo on your journey, but beware, these pickups will become scarce as the levels progress, just as the number of enemies increases and the battle gets that much harder. The light showed through the heavy misty like a lantern-eyed Cyclops as you crest the hill to the coliseum. This is where your revenge begins and you will finally be rewarded with what was rightfully yours...

Bearing the Mark, you were discovered a red, wailing infant in a nursery of worthless orphans who would die the same pathetic way in which they entered the world. Different, you were whisked away, sent far away from the scum of the city, where you received endless training, while never a word was spoken about why you were there or why you were special. The world was a bleak place, punished by the gods for their crimes and disobedience. No one was exempt from their punishment. The world suffered: droughts, plagues, war, mayhem, disease, bleakness... there was no end to it. Even in your corner of the world, where the landscaped seemed almost immune, the signs of their wrath were still evident. No escape. But there were the hopeful, and you were their hope, bleak as it may be. You considered their faith in you a pathetic attempt at happiness. What could you do to improve their lives? You, a paltry human. The title of a warrior you carried, felling many an army in your service, but what was a mortal warrior against immortal deities? But the Mark was ever present, reminding you there was more than met the eye. As your mortal life caught up with you, you fell prey to the weakness, and as you lay dying, you cursed the gods and their cowardly ways. Fight us, you shout. As the rain pounded the ground around you, washing away the stain of your spilled blood, pain emanated from your Mark, and at once you were healed. The sky opened up, and a stairway appeared. Wielding your weapon, you ascend. A small man, a man of decidedly un-god like proportions greeted you. As you prepare to deliver a killing blow, he utters your truth: half mortal, half god, refused the throne, hated, despised, punished for your mortal blood and your ties to the living world. Unworthy. It is time, he explains. The man bowed, stepping aside. It's time for a new order, he says by way of answer to his aid, the disappears from sight. A cruel smile curves your lips. It is time to claim what's yours.
